Robert Reid Mackie, the founder of our family run firm, was born in Almanythie Road, Peterhead. 

He started his career as a Funeral Director with James Davidson Funeral Directors, Peterhead in 1973. He then went on to open his own Funeral Directors based in Ugie Street, Peterhead in 1984, then adding The Wilson Street Hall to complete the premises.

Robert then decided to move to their current purpose built premises in 1999 where Robert and his team continue to serve Peterhead and the surrounding area.

Robert Mackie won the Best of Buchan title at Peterhead’s Scottish Week 2019 and Robert Mackie Funeral Directors won the best funeral director in the North East of Scotland in 2019 at the inaugural Scottish Funeral Awards. More than 150 business from the industry engaged, from funeral directors to stone masons, celebrants to florists.
