What is “Direct Cremation”? 

Direct Cremation, sometimes known as Non-attended Cremation or Pure Cremation, has become more common in recent years.

With a Direct Cremation, there is no viewing of the deceased and no service for family/friends to attend.

Here at Robert Mackie Funeral Directors, we offer Direct Cremation, but unlike many of the offers advertised on TV, we will care for your loved one locally and arrange for the cremation to be held in our local area.

The total cost for our standard Direct Cremation is £1,695, inclusive of the non attended cremation fee at Aberdeen Crematorium.

We kindly ask that all Direct Cremation services are paid in advance at the time of arrangement.

What’s Included:

• Supply of lined and fitted cremation coffin 

• Advice on the documentation required for the registration of death

• Liaising with relevant crematoria on your behalf

• Entrusting your loved one into our care during office hours (within a 40 mile radius of our funeral home)*

• Care of your loved one

• Conveyance of your loved one in a specialised vehicle to the crematorium 

• Collection & return of cremated remains 

• Aberdeen Crematorium Non Attended Fee

*(Out of hours and/ or out of area removals will incur an additional charge.)

What’s Not Included:

• Embalming and/or viewing of your loved one

• Attendance at the crematorium  

• Provision of Hearse or Funeral Cortege
